Kuro scholars may remember I drew this white haired floof for Squish a few years ago. Now she's back!
The theme for this piece is floof. All the floof. All-encompassing floof. There's so much floof that shes able to lie down on it as a cushion.
Funny premise aside, this was a challenging piece. The tail coming from the tail bone and somehow doing the reach-around to become her cushion underneath was stressful to pull off. It was hard to get the hair flow to feel correct, and it was hard to figure out how lineart would factor into the rendering. I ended up making it so there was no lineart on the tail, and cranked the floof up to 11 so it took up the whole background, and then somehow or other it worked out.
She was also a bit challenging to draw but it's more because I was derping. In the timelapse you'll see I redrew the whole butt and leg, and the face got a lot of work done too. As always, the artist's curse means I mostly remember all the areas I had difficulty with and where I feel like I didn't do as good as I wanted, but in the end I hope my suffering was worth it and floof lovers enjoy it.
