This Arknights Endfield green girl has been popping off lately so I figured I'd draw her!
My initial idea was to make a piece based on a bad pun of "fluorite in the water", but then it changed to be about a lizard lying in the sun. I was inspired by some cosplay models like Pattie Cosplay and paipan gravure and wanted to draw a naked pose where the bits are just baaarely covered. I sketched a pose and I dug it, so I locked it in.
Sadly this was a bit of a troubled piece. It was one of those where I kept second guessing myself the whole way through. I knew I felt some magic from the initial pose, but the more I worked on it the harder it felt to see it. I wanted to trust my gut and keep going but I kept stressing over it. I couldn't figure out what specific nuances of the gesture to keep, what expression I wanted, what cropping I wanted, what background I wanted. In the end I went with this. The sand waves are actually not too dissimilar of a challenge to rendering water waves, but those aren't easy either. Overall just kinda glad it's done, and I hope I look back on it charitably after some time has passed.

Initially I was gonna make her only have the crispy tan version, but last minute decided to add a light skin variant. Now you get to have both.
