How have you been this month?
Development’s been going well over here. With every game, I love that I get to learn something new. This time it’s been all about the law and Japan’s justice system. Huge respect for people who work in law. It seems so intense and emotionally draining. I don’t know how y’all do it. Makes me wonder what kind of person I'd be if I hadn't dropped out of law school after a year lol
Also, I need to admit I spent more time than I should on Ace Attorney gameplays hahah which reminds me, I really need to add it to the game poll choices!
Right now I’m finishing the animation and will soon bring it into After Effects for the final composition.
About the story, here’s the summary:
You’re a prosecutor at the Morioka District Public Prosecutors Office, proudly contributing to Japan’s famously high conviction rate. But when a man is found dead in the road and the city blames you, your perfect life collapses. You know what really happened. It wasn’t an accident, and it wasn’t you. It was something no ordinary person could see.
Now you’re the one on trial. And the only person willing to defend you is Hiromi Higuruma, a man with his own conviction and a quiet certainty that the system he serves is built on something rotten.
As the case unfolds, so does something deeper: trust, attraction, and the beginning of an affair neither of you should want. But guilt has a way of pulling people together. And even though you’ve always worked alone, this time you’ll need help to walk free and finish what the curse started.
Prosecutors seem to have a lot of power in Japan, so I wanted the MC to have that role. Which means Higuruma might be kind of a sub. Love that.
