I’m excited to officially release Guap Cam, my custom-built chaser camera for Assetto Corsa. This project started as a personal effort to make third-person driving feel more connected, readable, and expressive, and it has grown into a camera system I’m proud to share with the community.
Guap Cam is designed to enhance immersion without sacrificing control. Whether you’re pushing clean racing lines or living on the limit in long drift transitions, this camera adapts to your driving style rather than fighting it.
Two Dynamic Camera Modes
Guap Cam features two dynamic options, each tuned for a different driving philosophy. You can switch between them depending on your preference or the type of driving you’re doing.
Race Cam – Precision and Stability
The race camera option is built for drivers who want clarity and consistency.
Minimal camera sway and rotation
Predictable framing at high speed
Excellent visibility for braking zones and corner entry
This mode keeps the car firmly grounded in the frame, making it ideal for grip racing, hotlapping, and competitive driving where visual stability matters most.
Drift Cam – Flow and Expression
The drift camera option is tuned specifically with drifters in mind.
Increased camera freedom and rotation
Natural weight transfer response
Emphasizes angle, speed, and motion
This mode allows the camera to breathe with the car, highlighting transitions, countersteer, and overall flow. It’s designed to make drifting feel dynamic and cinematic without becoming disorienting.
Built for Feel, Not Gimmicks
Guap Cam is not about exaggerated effects or artificial movement. Every parameter has been carefully adjusted to maintain readability while adding character. The goal is simple: make third-person driving feel right.
Both modes are dynamic, reacting in real time to vehicle movement, speed, and direction changes. The difference is how tightly or loosely the camera follows the car, giving you meaningful choice instead of a one-size-fits-all solution.
