Ocular 1.0 comes with full Pure Gamma & LCS Support.
It's finally here. After everything that went into all the Guap filter development builds, I've pulled it all together, rebuilt the core entirely, and given it the name it deserves: Ocular 1.0.
This isn't just a version bump with a fresh coat of paint. Ocular is the filter Guap was always trying to become, a complete rework of how the image is exposed, tonemapped, and graded, built around one idea: the camera should see the way an eye (or a real cinema lens) actually sees. That's where the name comes from. Everything in this release serves that goal.
If you've been running Guap V2.5 or V3, this is a straight upgrade. If you're new here, welcome, this is the best place to start.
What's New in 1.0
A brand-new Tonemap
The headline change. AgX & Uchimura are both still in there for the neutral crowd, but the new default is a Fully Custom Ocular Finely-Tuned Tonemap, based on AgX, built from the ground up rather than borrowed from anyone else.
The short version: cleaner highlight rolloff, better midtone separation, and skies that hold their color instead of clipping to white when the sun's up. Bright scenes no longer fall apart, and shadows keep their richness without that crushed, muddy low end. It's the single biggest reason 1.0 looks like a different generation.
You still get all four modes in the Monitor page, AgX / Uchimura / Mixed / Ocular — so you can pick the response you like, but Ocular is where the work went.
Rebuilt exposure system
The exposure pipeline has been reworked from the inside out. Adaptation is smoother and more natural, the day/night targets behave properly across the full time-of-day curve, and the transitions between exterior, cockpit, and tunnel exposure are far more believable now.
Cockpit vs. exterior is handled separately, tunnel entry/exit reacts the way real eyes do, and the whole system holds steadier in mixed and overcast light instead of pumping. Less babysitting in the menus, more just driving and having it look right.
Sun-blinding
A somewhat new effect (in the filter) I'm genuinely excited about. Look toward the sun and you get a real, reactive blinding response, a brief exposure lift and bloom swell as the light overwhelms the "sensor," then a natural settle as you look away. It sells those low-sun, golden-hour moments harder than anything else in the filter, and it ties directly into the new exposure system rather than being a flat overlay.
New glare presets
Reworked glare from the shape up. The new presets give you cleaner sun stars and more controlled aperture-blade glare instead of the old blown-out streaks, with options that range from subtle and photographic to full cinematic flare. Point lights, the sun, and bright reflections all read better now.
Expanded color grades
The grade library has grown. On top of the existing color-looks (Guap Spec, Kodak, Neutral, Warm, Cool), 1.0 adds new film-inspired LUT profiles for more range, warmer print-style looks, cooler neutral options, and grades that pair specifically well with the new tonemap. Auto Day/Night grading still lets you run one look in daylight and another at night with a smooth blend between them.
Still in, still improved
Everything that made Guap V3 good is still here and tuned to match the new core:
Golden Hour Auto — automatically warms, lifts, and intensifies the look during the sunrise/sunset window, then steps back out of the way.
Tunnel reaction & flash control, per-weather sky/cloud tuning, and the reflection work all carry over, re-balanced against the new exposure and tonemap.
How to Install
Download the file in the Discord (link your patreon > discord).
Drop the extension & system folders into your Assetto Corsa root folder which you can find in steam.
OR drag and drop the ZIP file into content manager (can cause issues)
Launch the game, open the Post Process Filter app, and select Ocular 1.0 / Ocular 1.0 LCS as your active filter/script.
Make sure you're on a current CSP build and that Pure is installed and active/updated.

Recommended: start on the Ocular tonemap with the default grade, then tune from there. If you're coming from V3, I'd suggest resetting settings to defaults in the Pure Config app once so the new exposure values load clean rather than inheriting your old ones.
Access
Ocular 1.0 is available to Early Access (or higher) patrons. Existing supporters, it's waiting for you in the discord.
Thank you
None of this happens without the people running these filters every day and sending me feedback, comparison shots, and bug reports. Ocular 1.0 is the result of all of that.
If you spot something off, or you've got a look you want me to chase next, drop it in the comments, I read everything, and it shapes where this goes. There's already more in the pipeline.
