Hello my gemlins~! 💜Chapter 09 will begin next week, starting with 10 pages that I just finished a few days ago! Just these pages took me an entire month to finish, which is outrageous @ _@) There were 3 pages that I kept changing over and over, but in the end it was worth it, because for one page the composition went from this: To this:We're often encouraged to go with our first drafts, to not overthink, not everything needs to be perfect, it just needs to get the idea across etc. etc. And while I agree with that sentiment to a certain degree, it's often more important to me to take the time and let ideas cook, because there are cases where I don't want my readers to just get the idea, I want you to be able to /feel/ it when you look at the images. Sometimes that means progress being slowed down or grinding to a halt for a bit, until I can get it right.This might come easy to some creators, but for me, like most things related to art, it definitely doesn't. These last few pages have taught me a lot, so I'm hoping that taking the time now to improve how I show certain things, will pay off down the line for future stories, too.I'm currently working on the cover illustration for this chapter. I want to get it done by the end of the week, so I can post it for you along with the first 10 pages of the chapter next week.Here's a little preview of that, too 😊 I desperately need to sleep now, I've been in the pits of despair™ a little bit lately, and thus not feeling too great about literally anything. Hopefully things will calm down a little soon. I'd like to cleanse my brain from any and all things that keep me so distraught and distracted from the things I care about.
