This series moves to an upscale neighbourhood filled with leafy streets, manicured lawns, and classic American homes from the 1920s. Here, a Dutch Colonial Revival house goes on the market while still under renovation, drawing a select group of prospective buyers for private viewings. As interest grows, the watchful neighbours begin to suspect that there may be more going on behind the scenes.
The neighborhood
The street is put together using several C3D Neighbourhood packs by Collective3D, creating a suburban block filled with classic homes from the 1920s and ’30s. For the main building, I went with the Long Island Mansion model, which I later found out is based on the original 1926 floor plans of 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, New York—yes, the house from The Amityville Horror. Not exactly the tone of atmosphere I had in mind for this series, but the building actually works surprisingly well for the story.
The characters
I like to imagine this neighbourhood as full of well-off retirees, people whose main hobbies seem to be tending perfectly manicured gardens and exchanging endless gossip with the neighbours. Life is calm, predictable… maybe a little dull.
So when a house hits the market, the whole street perks up. Young, good-looking men come to check it out, and suddenly everyone has a reason to pay attention. But the excitement soon turns into suspicion: every single workman is ridiculously fit, and the sounds drifting from the house are anything but the usual hammering and drilling.
