Every second reel on my Instagram was a fucking video of a guy buying a brand new PS5 somewhere out there around the world.
Now, at first, I tried to resist thinking that, surely I do not have that much time, and money to do this... and that even if I bought it, I would only ever be able to play a few hours a week at most because of work, so it wouldn't be very worth it...
But alas, that little child in my heart that had once looked at his friend who had a brand PS3 with envy, while only allowed to play for a few minutes when he got bored, just couldn't resist, and not to mention the hype around GTA... so I eventually gave in and ordered it.
Logically, I knew that a lot of it was just hype, anticipation, and nostalgia, and a little bit of FOMO.
Emotionally, however, my brain had transformed into a twelve-year-old who had just discovered video games for the first time.
I genuinely cannot remember the last time I was this excited about something.
The feeling of anticipation is dancing in my chest.
Thinking about what I am going to play next. Remembering those old gaming nights when I'd tell myself "just one more quest" and suddenly it'd be 4 AM, and I am fighting a boss with bloodshot eyes...
And so the week went by, with me spending most of my time either watching the Amazon order tracking, looking where my order was or watching all those countless unpacking videos of PS5 on YouTube, how one should install it, and which games I should play
And then it finally arrived... and let's just say that it hasn't been turned off even once over the past four days, and even when my various cousins and friends and I were done playing, we would put it into rest mode to begin downloading other games everyone wanted to play.
...
Alas, this all means that I didn't get to write much more than 1000 words of the new chapter, and by the time I realised it was already Sunday, the time to upload the new chapter. SIGH
So I sincerely ask for your forgiveness...
Thankfully, though, most of my all-consuming cravings have been, and now I think I can once again act sanely and resume writing, and the chapter shall be posted next week... barring any further visits from the bosses of Ghost of Tsushima, Red Dead Redemption 2, and others.
Just Kidding.
