DESCRIPTION

So the most common issue I see new people have is with figuring out how to get the Obsidian TTRPG Convert CLI tool to run. Everyone needs those notes but most people have never used a command line interface in their life and as such, this is a hurdle.

I've been very happy with the reduction of questions since I released my latest tutorial. I feel like it's flowing better and easier to follow.

However, I've been wanting to make it even easier.

Introducing the TTRPG Convert CLI User Interface!

UPDATE: Page published here now contains the download link - TTRPG-Convert-CLI-UI - Obsidian TTRPG Tutorials

This is a WINDOWS application (sorry Mac users) that will step through the process of setting up the CLI, creating a config file and then running the CLI.

The first tab has buttons for installing all the parts. Basically move top to bottom and all the parts you need will be installed where they need to go. Pretty happy with the automation here. It will download the source files, unzip them and then copy the files where they need to go.

The second tab is for creating your config file. Instead of typing raw text, you now have input fields that will allow you to select the options. It will even look at your templates folder and pickup any custom templates you may add. Click Save Config at the bottom to create your config file.

The last screen runs the CLI tool and then tells you how to setup the notes.

If you start with tab 1 and move through tab 2 then tab 3... you should be able to run the CLI without ever having to touch the pesky command line interface.

This is an early test. So I'm expecting this to have some bumps. But if anyone would like to take it for a whirl and report back... I could use the feedback to further tune and polish it.

It's ugly, but for me at least, it's working 😁and now I need to know if it works for others!
