Sketches + a word or two about May
DESCRIPTION

Hey guys! Here's sketches of a few shots currently in progress. Half of 'em are colored by now, so it won't take much longer. Just happens I need to get proper sleep tonight before a doc appointment early morning, and a busy rest of the day, so I can't pull an all nighter to rush-finish. And ofc there will be even more shots after, so please look forward to it!

I also wanted to touch base with you about this particularly slow month. It's important to me to let you know I'm well aware, but also to share some of the why's.

The main hurdle has been having to dedicate several days each week to focus on the refurbishment and repairs of the old apartment. Yes, the same old one—still no new contractors, so I've been learning and doing stuff myself as possible, it's just taking forever. Since Winter is creeping closer on us (down here South) there were some tasks that demanded some measure of urgency. Most of that is done now, so my work balance should be coming back to normal.

Another thing I had to deal with this month was doing some maintenance to my PC. Pulling renders in Blender was peaking the hot-spot of the GPU over 110ºC (survivable for this model, but not healthy long-term, and definitely not right for that kind of demand), so I had to take a little time off for that too. Dusting it wasn't enough, so it became evident I'd need to take apart the graphics card and replace all the thermal compounds. Since this wasn't something I ever did before (and we all know how expensive are GPUs nowadays) that took me some careful research and courage build-up. To my shock, looking inside I found the thermal paste was insufficient from factory... so I'm just glad I didn't wait any longer to fix that. Temps are nearly 30ºC lower while full baking now, so we can call it a success.

There's been other things that demanded my attention, such as vet appointments and other obligations. Normal things, ofc, but just everything seemed to combine together in the same month. And lastly, there returned some health discomforts that make difficult to stay for long at the computer certain days, but that isn't something I want to get into detail here.

TLDR(?) In all—I just want you to know I'm doing what I can to get as many productive hours every week to invest on my art. And all of my work, I do it for you guys here. Always have.

I know many of you know this, and never need the reminder, but there are also new people, many who joined after Frieren's sets, and (going by some odd questions and comments on the side) not many of them know me from the old days or know anything about my dedication to this job over the past decade; and I can only call it that, my job, thanks to each one of you.

See you next post, with fully colored fruits. 🍋🍈Fegu out!
