In order to join a Lifetime Tier, you would need to subscribe to the Tier for monthly, then after receiving your API key you can cancel the subscription and your RPDB API Key will no longer expire.
Note: For users that are already on an annual subscription, Patreon does not allow changing from annual to monthly in order to switch to lifetime, there seems to be no solution to this except creating a new Patreon account, this can be done with the same email address by adding a dot "." somewhere in your email prefix. Email providers ignore dots in email address prefixes, but Patreon will consider it a new email. I apologise for this situation, I expected Patreon to have more flexibility in regards to discounts.
