What is up mah great dudes! I'm here real quick to talk to you guys about something FASCINATING! And how and why scenes like this one (based on jujutsu) kinda works. So Cushion frames are specific frames you put between chaotic movements so your brain can understand what the hell is happening. You see, you cannot process to much information past 30 frames per second, so your rain attatches itself to anchors to try and tell you what the hell is going on. Those anchors need to be visually understandable and needs to stay a bit more exposed than the rest of the movement.Funny thing is, after your brain identifies those anchors, it doesn't matter what the hell is happening in between those, the movement will look believable despite it not making any god damn sense frame by frame XDDDDThis is the magic of the cushion frames and this is why the fighting scenes and impact frames work. If you go frame by frame on a very very fast pacing fight scene you'll see it desn't make much sense, however, there are always well stablished poses in the middle of those chaotic movements and flips. Knowing where to put them is the key to a cool and fast paced scene!
