Morning mist drifted through the forest, and the light filtered down as softly as pollen. The one who had wandered in had barely begun to look around when a group of tiny fairies sprang from the grass, their wings shimmering in pale green and rose-gold. They circled the human excitedly, chattering that the prophecy had come true—today a beautiful human princess would arrive.
The person at the center froze, hurriedly shaking their head and explaining that they were neither a princess nor even a girl. The words seemed swallowed by leaves; the fairies paid no attention at all. Some perched on shoulders, some tugged at clothing, and others passed petals and ribbons back and forth, as though preparing for a grand ceremony.
Before there was time to react, the original clothes were gently removed by magic. Soft vines replaced hands, lifting the body delicately. Heat rushed to the cheeks in embarrassment, yet the fairies remained focused, treating everything as a natural step. Dew collected in petals was used to cleanse the skin, and fine powder from flower stamens was brushed across the face, softening the sharper contours with a gentle glow.
They began with makeup. Pale pink pollen dusted the outer corners of the eyes, fading upward like dawn on clouds. Tiny golden sparkles were dotted near the tear ducts, flickering like fireflies when blinking. The lashes were combed with soft feathers and set with clear resin, lengthening and curling them. Rose nectar tinted the lips, leaving them glossy and tender. The entire face became translucent and gentle, the blush of shyness even more obvious, as though it might deepen at the slightest touch.
Next came the hair. A soft green breeze brushed through, and the strands lengthened rapidly into waist-long golden locks. The fairies divided the hair into sections, weaving them with vine-like combs. Small white blossoms were pinned at the sides, dew-drop ornaments glinting between strands. Most of the hair flowed freely behind, slightly curled, swaying as if moved by wind. Tender leaves and pink flowers interlaced throughout, giving a light forest-born elegance.
A delicate inner slip, thin as petals, was slipped on. Then the fairies gathered around the waist, tightening a pale green corset. Its structure gently shaped posture, lifting the torso into graceful curves. Embroidered vines decorated the corset, with tiny pearls along the edges trembling softly with each breath.
When the dress itself appeared, the fairies gasped in delight. The bodice resembled layered petals in pale green and white, like the heart of a blooming flower. A three-dimensional pink rose adorned the center, beneath which hung strands of crystal and leaves that swayed gently. The shoulders were nearly bare, covered only by sheer sleeves sprinkled with tiny blossoms.
The skirt became the centerpiece. The inner layers were soft pink tulle, fluffy like clouds; the outer layers mixed pale green and translucent fabric, edged with embroidered white flowers. The front was shorter, revealing slender legs, while the back extended into a long trailing train embroidered with tiny blossoms and lace. It spread across the grass like a field of flowers.
White lace stockings were drawn over the legs, the embroidered tops hugging the calves elegantly. Small floral anklets were tied around the ankles. Shoes followed—delicate green heels with a soft sheen, each adorned with a small flower on the instep. Once worn, the posture became more poised, every movement swaying gently.
Finally came the accessories: a petal-shaped necklace with a clear gem, tiny flower earrings, vine bracelets, and a floral crown. The transformation made the figure seem born from the forest itself.
The fairies brought a mirror-like pool forward. Reflected there was someone entirely different—long golden hair, a layered pink-and-green gown blooming like petals, soft makeup, and shy eyes. Even the reflection seemed unbelievable.
The fairies cheered, declaring the princess complete. Another attempt to explain faded into the wind. Magic quietly settled in the air, petals glowing around the feet. The sense of being unable to leave the forest slowly became clear. The fairies tugged at the dress, inviting play among flower houses and branches.
Thus began the days that followed—playing among petals and dew, the dress fluttering in the breeze, blossoms swaying in golden hair. The shyness remained, but the figure in the mirror—the forest princess—had become an inseparable part of this enchanted place.
