Hello there, everyone.
I hope you all have something fun planned to enjoy the last day of an pretty hectic year. Last day of the year deserves the last development update of the year!
After all of the reports coming in of the game not running/starting for some of you or crashing after a few minutes of gameplay. I moved optimization to the top of the backlog. Only logical, since it makes no sense to release a new update if a big chuck of you can't even play it, right? But I'm sure you all have noticed the optimization updates I have been spamming you all with. Even if they do not contain extra content I HIGHLY recommend updating to the newest version anyway and see how it treats you.
Now on to what is happening currently. I have been working on fixing the lovers path. Some parts were so hard to puzzle together that I just remade them instead. I also added some new features related to the persistent comic gallery so you will be able to unlock them across runs. I also updated the comic system to use the new animation system. Some bugfixes related to some timeline points not triggering properly. Also, after some feedback regarding comics I decided to add a new feature which you will just have to wait and see (Nothing mind-blowing just a QoL feature). Most of these additions were done as breaks between fixing the Lovers path, since working on it days on end would drive anyone absolutely mad. Even though I was hoping to release the Lovers path this month, doing so would require me to work through new years day/eve. Don't get me wrong, I would do so in a heartbeat. But I have family that missed me and wants to see me on new years eve.
So instead of stressing myself straight into 2026, I decided to take a day off and just release the patch in 2026. Even though that means I will be missing a milestone for Lovers path I still think the sheer amount of optimizations done to v0.22 (which will benefit everyone, every patch going forward) justifies the lost time invested into it. I'm sure this might be disappointing to some of you. But trust me on this, nothing good will come out of starting 2026 stressing. That does not only go for me, but for all of you as well so try to relax and enjoy new years eve!
