DESCRIPTION

I don't have much cool stuff to show off today, so here's a picture of Piss Lipid Boy's new model.

Ain't he a beut'?

For the most part, I have been working on the background stuff necessary for localization to be implemented into the game. Let me tell you though: Unity's Localization System sucks, at least compared to Godot. Every step of the way the system has been fighting me, and as always with most aspects of Unity, it seems to be mostly tooled around garbage youtube tutorial games rather than full size game projects. This is a problem I have with a lot of Unity. All documentation was based around how to translate tiny amounts of text, like the "Play" or "Pause" label on a button, and not for handling large strings necessary for a full dialogue system. Certain parts of the system just don't work, there are multiple "Export CSV" buttons, which all do the same thing, except some of the buttons just put out corrupted CSV files, so you have to search for the arbitrarily working one to get it to function. Unity is a bit of a stupid nightmare, haha.

It was a nightmare to get through, but luckily at this point I have it figured out for the most part, so I will be able to implement translations later down the line. Still, this is an aspect that I really think needs to be rethought in Unity. I hope you've enjoyed my massive wall of moaning and complaining, but development is going well! I'm going to be working on more levels coming up, and I will have cool things to show off soon!
