So, in a bit of a 'fever dream' style event, the tangle of wires and dead hamsters that makes up the majority of my brain latched onto wanting to fire out a series of comic pages revolving around at least five different characters. A thread of a story started to weave itself through them and before I knew it I was sketching over the weekend despite usually taking those days off to do something 'not work' related.
As of this moment, I don't have anything but a working title and three pages sketched out, with the first cleaned up sketched page posted above. I have the internal script for another possibly 20 pages or so dancing around in the Hell-maze of my mind, begging to be set free.
As this seems to have lit a fire under me to do some sort of story, I'm just going to let it happen. I don't know how far this will go. I don't know if it's something that eventually I'll just internalize, but I do know that I'm enjoying watching these people interact with each other.
I don't even have names of anyone, yet. There's a kobold. She's a knight of sorts. Why? I'm still working that out. And because I hate myself intensely, I decided to make her partner honor (crime?) a raixa. Because why wouldn't I include an infamously difficult to draw animal shapeshifter as a partner for a tiny character that needs a siege tower to even sit upon.
Come what may, this is a thing, now. I've thumbnailed a good 8 pages so far. This is very much a side-project, but it's one that is going to let me refine some skills that I've let get rusty, and research how to be efficient with linework/design since there's going to be dozens of panels of this.
