DESCRIPTION

Yesterday was a bit of a roller coaster. It would have been my father's 84th birthday.. Which was wild to think about. I still miss him, and know he'd have been in full 'We need to make beer for the winter' mode.

I have yet to find the recipe he scribed down all those decades ago. His beer was near legendary, and he had a whole system set up complete with bar-taps and C02 tanks with refrigerated beer on tap.

How the hell I stayed the sober person I am today is baffling. I was a teenager and somehow didn't constantly go through mugs of beer. I guess it just proves I've always been a boring person :)

That said, another warmup sketch of Hyrrahittia ensuring that her shinies stay with her. The dead be damned, they can't take it with them anyway.

I'm not great at action scenes, and wanted to try and work on a bit of a more loose style for this. I had to redraw her foot about a dozen times, and the skeleton in the back had to be cleaned up or would have just looked like a bunch of scribbles behind her, but for now, this sketch is done.

I'm going to continue to try and get sketches, inks and hopefully paintings out at the same interval while working on other things. I got rusty, but I think I'm starting to get back into the swing of things.

Happy chasing-turkeys-around-with-a-rake day to all you folks in the US. May gravy be with you.
