When Princess Celestia gets word of a trade dispute between Ponville and the settlement town of Appleloosa, she discerns the Apple family is the cause. Specifically Applejack's cousin Braeburn who runs a successful apple orchard in Appleloosa. As Ponyville is supposed to be the #1 apple supplier in all of Equstria, Princess Celestia sends Applejack and her apprentice Twilight Sparkle to confront Braeburn and to implore him to shut his farm down, so that Celestia can control the flow of commerce once more
