DESCRIPTION

A few weeks ago, I asked you to share your "painful" experiences so I could see if Moulinette could improve certain workflows. Several comments mentioned repetitive tasks such as placing monsters or tiles, as well as the difficulty of creating a soundboard that is extensive enough for large sound libraries.

In the past few weeks, I've developed a new feature that allows you to build a very flexible board, offering automation and organization capabilities that should address some of the desired use cases.

Please note that this is an early version, available in limited access for supporters (will be released for everyone in August).

Keep reading to discover some of the features offered by "Moulinette Board" or skip to the bottom of the post for installation instructions.

What is Moulinette Board ?

Moulinette Board is a navigation panel that appears in the top left corner. The navigation consists of directories containing shortcuts. These shortcuts allow you to quickly perform actions such as adding a tile to a scene, playing an ambient sound, opening a character sheet, and more.

Build your own board

Unlike the navigation bar or macro bar in FoundryVTT, or Moulinette's soundboard, this navigation offers much more flexibility. You have up to 4 directory levels to organize your shortcuts. Build the navigation that suits your needs.

What is Moulinette Board used for ?

Moulinette Board (MB) supports a multitude of use cases. Here are some examples:

Macros : similar to the macro bar, you can manage macros in MB and quickly access and execute them

Soundboard : similar to Moulinette Soundboards, you can drag & drop sounds in MB and quickly access and play them. If you configure multiple sounds, MB will play one of them randomly.

Tiles : you can group certain images (tiles) like trees or furniture. MB then allows you to randomly add one of the images when you drag and drop it onto your scene.

Shortcuts : you can drag & drop items from Compendiums (like rules, templates, etc.) in order and organize them in MB to later easily access them

Mouse over an item in MB to have a better idea what you can do with it.

WARNING: This module is still in development, and there is no documentation available to facilitate its use. Please feel free to share your feedback on the Moulinette Discord.
