Hey everyone! While I'm working hard on new comic pages, there are a number of secondary projects I'd like to try. Because some of it is very experimental I've set up this poll to learn a little more about what you would like to see me do!
Please keep in mind that comics will be the primary method of storytelling I'd like to keep pursuing, but the outcome of this poll will hopefully give me an idea of how much I can experiment with different types of media while keeping everyone excited about the material. I'll give a brief summary of all the options below:
- More comics, please!
You're not interested in any other content from me besides comics. You prefer the general pace I've been going at and most of all, you'd just like me to write more comics.
- Wait, you do animation?
I do animation! I've animated a decent amount for various projects and while I'd like to do some animations with my own characters, the downside is that animation takes forever to do. I'll be transparent about this one: I have commissioned voice actresses to read lines for multiple sequences that I have all the tools to animate, but it'd just take a lot of time to make and I'm scared to commit to longer periods of time without uploading anything. Pick this option if you'd be okay with me posting fewer illustrations and comics in favor of animation!
- Why don't you try animatics instead?
An animatic is basically a number of illustrations with a voiceover. Not quite a smooth animation, but the images tell a quick story (ideally assisted by skilled voice actors). This takes less time than animation and might allow me to tell more stories with less work, but the downside is that it's currently hard for me to say what the frequency of uploads would be.
- More individual pieces!
Rather than any of the other options, you'd prefer if I stuck to drawing single images (every now and then with dialogue). This would mean the highest frequency of uploads at the cost of a more complex narrative.
- More collaborations!
There are a ton of very skilled creators in the community and I'm excited to collaborate with them! Picking this option tells me you don't really care about the format of the work I do, as long as it's in collaboration with others.
- Anything goes!
Comics, animation, collaborations, it doesn't matter- you just want me to do what feels right without planning too much ahead. This would mean variation, but also unpredictable uploads. I'd try to work on more unique concepts and ideas, such as Braintakers.
The results for this poll will not decide my course of action, but I'll use them to make decisions in the future about what projects I will sink my teeth in. Thank you so much for letting me know your preferences!
