Well folks here we have it. Various test scenarios that go to and well above the NIJ standards in still what I could consider many worst case scenarios. M995 still can't cut the cheese against thicker alumina strike faces. The AP HC from Ruag will need more testing. Overall if you've got steel and want an upgrade and want the comfort of multi-curve, these are a look at $99, but the TS Customer Service or lack there of has shown it's true colors. Their no "bullshit" return policy or free shipping is a farse. These plates are being actively built, and they claim to be shipping 700 a week after they get them from Chase Tactical.
A lot of good investigative work was done by various people. Highcom's original 4SAS4 CPL under 04 was only for a 8"X10" plate, and a 10"X12" Single curve that was 8.5 lb. Given the mutli-curve nature of this 4SAS4 and the weight, those would have required this plate to have it's own CPL. The plate was discontinued in 2012, and then brought online again 2022. If anyone claims that these CT 4SAS4 are different than other vendor's 4SAS4 plates that are 2.5x the cost of these are lying.
The plate was threat validated to NIJ 06 WITHOUT the inclusion of the drop test. Manufacturers should really state that somewhere. Multi-hit scenarios only are on lesser threats, M193, M855, 7.62x39mm MSC. Again manufacturers of Level IV plates should more clearly distinguish which rounds were tested for multi-hit scenarios.
