Stealth Armor Systems HEXAR III ICW
DESCRIPTION

I got this panel from Nick's Night Vision as he was upgrading and wanted to see how these plates would perform with the SiC-TiB2 (Adept) ceramics. The Hexar designs are flexible, but the design is different than the FRAS from SafeLife. The tiles on the Hexar are inside of a bag, vs the FRAS where they are bonded on the backside to a non rigid sheet. As a system with a lightweight IIIA panel you're in the 5-5.5lb mark. Backface was approaching the limits on .308 shots, but they held. M855A1 was an issue but SAS did mention multiple stops from 16" barrel velocities. Our 6.8 GP shined here vs M80A1 due to projectile length making it through the system. SAS did a very nice job on this plate IMO. It wasn't designed as an all out threat killer, but fits nicely in the RF2 space
