Supposedly this is launching today. This is the plate I alluded to a few posts ago. All in all if you're looking for a mutli-hit capable plate that prioritizes weight and thickness with less cost, this may be replacing their 1092 series. From what I understand this is using new ceramic cores from the supplier with an increased purity. Alumina seems to have that balance of threat stoppages and overall robustness, but at the weight disadvantage. This plate effectively stops common barrel 5.56 threats, and only advanced AP threats in .30 cal are going to be a concern for it.
I offered up a few things for RMA to make this plate better. Laminate the rear of the plate as they did the front and the 1092 series to keep it together as long as possible. This new backing material acts like Aramid and controls BFD, but catching speed threats UHMWPE is superior. I wonder what would happen if they did a hybrid approach of the backing material. I still support them adding a drop face foam, but cracking didn't seem to negatively impact it's performance. I would love to know how Tacticon is bonding their strike faces to their ceramic plates, because RMA should be doing that as well as others. Obviously it's probably some $2000 roll of high end 3M adhesives and would add to cost.
The XRT comes in at around 200$ plate. That's $800 less than the Hesco D220, and about $400 less than the Highcom 3S9M.

I see RMA is careful this time about listing a tolerance for weights as my 3 samples were not 5.9lb but just a hair over 6lb. I am not sure if this video will launch as is, as at one point RMA asked that I re-shoot 2 plates until failure to include; 1 plate with M855A1 until failure, and 1 plate with M80A1 out of the 16" until failure. I felt that would better serve as a follow up video.
