Adept launched this plate not too long ago. Building on the same ceramic tech from the Colossus (SiC-TiB2) this plate is a rare instance of a Sub 6lb level IV/RF3 offering in a 10'X12" with full edge to edge strike faces, and no fancy "swimmer cut" profile. It's also almost .30" thinner than the Colossus based on my measurements. We had good multi-hit performance against even our tungsten 5.56 threats. Sourcing the AP4 was not cheap. The M2AP pass through was the result of a non fair hit, and I'd ASSUME that if we hit that first or second, it would have been a non issue. This is where at times having 2-3 plates would come in handy. Overall this seems to be a good blend of price/performance/protection. I'm curious if Adept will try to get to a sub 5lb level IV at some point.
