Hi everybody!Just some huge news I wanted to share! I am going to be a mom!
I've been holding it to myself and family for a while since I wasn't sure how it'd go with my questionable health plus some complications, but now I'm far enough along that I just wanna share and celebrate!
It won't impact art creation much until the baby is here since it hasn't been so bad so far, but my focus in the next months is to start building a backlog of new drawings for the first weeks/months just in case, so there isn't a huge sudden interruption. I intend on both continuing to become the best artist I can be and best mom to my future daughter. (Plus it's important to me to set a good example for her!)
I am also especially excited since for the first time since university I will have time away from work!! I will get a bit of maternity leave after she's here, although my work does not provide any top-ups, insurance, retirement, or benefits during that time, and they've already been guilting/pressuring me into leaving later, coming back sooner and I am not scheduled to leave till mid-Oct!! But I'm actually SO looking forward to not being at work I can hardly put it into words. 😇 (this shoddy 8-6 job needs a serious re-evaluation/replacement after this). Anyways, that is my happy news!
