November 2024 Community Reminders
🚨Patreon Live Event time changes: Beginner Jam, Intermediate Jam, and 2 voice lessons to be held on Saturdays this month. (including today!)
November is busy with travel and holidays, so I decided to shift some of this month's Patreon live events to Saturday - which means that hopefully more people can join live! See more in this recent post and the full schedule is below.
⏰ Check for Daylight Savings adjustments
Between that and Daylight Saving changes that happen internationally in October and November, please check all days and times carefully! Remember that Hawaii does not participate in Daylight Saving time changes. Use an online time converter like this one if that is helpful.

Please see September's newsletter post for what we've got planned so far. You can also share information about housing and transportation in the 10th Anniversary Hawaii Celebration Chat thread I created here on Patreon. I saw that folks created a spreadsheet, so you can add yourself!
Be sure you also fill out the Hawaii 2025 Interest Form if you haven't already. If you would like to take the lead and help arrange group activities, please let me know.

Events, announcements, invitations, questions, requests, suggestions -- all are fair game. OCTOBER 2024 RECAP - News, Patron Events and New Videos
My fall 2024 European tour concluded in mid-October. I performed and led a master class in Paris, then enjoyed a Hula workshop, concert, and jam in Berlin. Where do you hope I'll visit next?
We celebrated our 100 Days of Ukulele 2024 participants with a new Showcase video that premiered live on YouTube. Thank you so much to all who submitted, played, and watched -- and a special thank you to our volunteer editor Owen, who put in many hours assembling the video for us. In our Mindful Beginner Songbook Jam ($10+ Patrons), we worked on songs from the Berlin Songbook created for my jam there.
For the Live Lesson ($5+ Patrons, now available to all levels), we worked on "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps."
For the Intermediate Level-Up Jam ($20+ Patrons) on Halloween, we worked on my original song "Zombie Heart!" Did you know there's an official music video for this song? Check it out here.
Voice students ($30+ Patrons) met on three Tuesdays this past month.
I released two new videos: a fingerpicking playalong for "We're Going to Be Friends" by The White Stripes and a new playalong video for "Stuck In the Middle With You."

Special note for new Patrons
If you're new, I invite you to take some time to get to know the platform - there's a lot here, and it may take a while to navigate the many lessons and posts. The community WelcomeGuide/FAQ post is a good place to start.
To find a specific song or lesson, learn to use the Cynthia Lin Song Index spreadsheet. Thank you to the Community Managers for creating and maintaining this helpful resource.
Please introduce yourself in the comments: I'd love to hear how long you've been playing, what kind of uke you play, if you have a group to play with, what songs you've been working on, or anything else you'd like to share.
If you have questions about Patreon, I encourage you to post your questions in the comments below or to one of our Community groups. Our community has tons of friendly folks who love sharing their uke experience. Join our Patron-only Facebook group (be sure to answer BOTH membership questions).

1. Join our private Facebook group: In the Facebook group, Patrons can share videos, advice, support, and encouragement! Be sure to answer both membership questions so that Community Managers can verify your Patron status. If you wish to connect and are not on Facebook, you can share a post on the Community chats in the Patreon app. If you have questions about Patreon or ukulele or otherwise, posting the question to our very helpful and active Community will generate the fastest answer.
2. Facebook public groups - we're using Facebook as our community gathering place because it has the best community features.
