Hi all and happy new year, even if a bit late! I hope you are doing well.
Checkup Blues was released to the public just over a week ago, and the feedback has been surprisingly positive so far! I didn't expect it to be as well received as it was. I haven't watched it myself ever since first posting it on Patreon, except some quick scrubbing to make sure I was uploading the right versions elsewhere. I personally moved on long ago onto setting up my next project – I have been aching to start working on new stuff! So what is next? Well, first of all it's not a continuation of Checkup Blues. Many have been demanding that, but I'm certain that just as many of you know deep inside that was never the plan. This next project will have next to nothing to do with Linda's medical encounter.
I have yet to decide on a title; The project is currently code-named "Beryl" for the sake of organizing files and folders. Though relevant, this won't be the title, so I'll try to come up with something before the first proper update.
As with the making of Checkup Blues, I wish to keep my cards close and be secretive about the exact contents of the project aside from the short teaser gifs, but in order to make it easier for you to determine whether or not this is something worth supporting for you personally, I want to mention a couple of essential details right away:
- It's an animation, likely reaching the same lenght or longer than Checkup Blues.
- Hadiya will be the protagonist. The rest of the cast are newcomers.
- It will be set in the fantasy universe.
- Don't expect things to get any more explicit now than last time, I'm all about the tease as usual.
Project "Beryl" will finally give Hadiya a role in the fantasy universe. As most of you know, this setting is my excuse to dress people up in skimpy fantasy outfits and play around with an alternate timeline. Hadiya has not yet been shown in this setting, so this project will provide a nice entry point for her as well as giving the setting itself some more substance.
The first proper update on project "Beryl" will come around sometime next month, giving me time to get into the thick of it and see how this will float. Until then, stay safe and prepare for another long wait...!
