I came up with an interesting idea—or a new patron benefit, if you prefer saying it that way: Providing videos in a different resolution for different patron tiers. Higher resolution means a clearer, sharper image with finer details visible, which is mostly noticeable on larger screens.
1) Mad Cultists will get videos in the usual 1080p (FullHD) resolution, the same as all my previous videos.
2) Deep Ones will get their no-watermark videos in 1440p resolution for an increased image quality, which would be noticeable on a bigger screen. The difference in file size does not vary that much between 1080p and 1440p, so I don't see any negatives of this change.
3) Elder Things, the highest tier, will get the true 4k (2160p) resolution version in addition to the usual no-watermark version of the second tier. 4k videos are much bigger than their lower-resolution counterparts, but they also look very sharp and crisp. They are best suited for big screens and more powerful hardware.
Current hi-res works: Ahri episodes 4 + 5 and Tifa's Hot Encounter (the Ember project, 2 videos). And all videos I will create in the future.
Important note: Only videos from the current year (2025) onward are part of this benefit. That's because scenes need to be rendered in high resolution straight from Blender, and I only gained that ability in 2025. Older videos remain 1080p resolution, as their upscale/remake would take ages.
There are various images with comparisons present in this post for your perusal. I also uploaded a picset with 20+ images on my usual websites. Packed as a simple zip file with no password, there are many side-by-side examples of the differences between various resolutions.
Feel free to download the file and see if you can spot the difference. Your results will depend on your hardware and the size of the screen you use. If you can't see any differences, then you don't have to worry about it.
I suspect some people will notice the difference and others won't, and that is perfectly normal. It really depends on your circumstances.
Other than that, I spent this week updating Blender and add-ons and checking new models—all kinds of boring but necessary work in the background. Next week, I plan to get back to creating new animations and preparing the next big poll, so stay tuned for that. Thank you!
