Law School Episode 5 - DevLog #24
DESCRIPTION

Hello everyone,

This devlog is being published a day early because of some news I'll mention a little lower.

Last week was great. I managed to finish the LEWD scene Saturday night, and I was very quick and efficient with it, so I'm really happy with the result.

Completing this LEWD scene also means that, after three whole months, I'm finally done with this Halloween event.

With close to 2,100 renders and 74 animations, it was an absolute behemoth of an event. I'm most likely going to find things to redo here and there, and maybe add a bit of content once I play through it during postwork, but that's a problem for future me.

In the meantime, I can finally get started on the final DAY of this update.

Well, not exactly right away.

I've kept this on the low, but over the last few months, I've been trying to get my own place. I currently live in a shared household, I work from my bedroom, and my computers can't run 24/7 since I do, unfortunately, need to sleep. On top of that, summers are hell when you have computers rendering and generating an insane amount of heat.

I've been going left and right trying to get my own place for months, but unfortunately, it won't happen in Ireland. So I've decided to relocate to France, and that's what I'm doing this next week.

I've secured the place and the means to move my stuff by myself, mostly to make sure my computers are safe, but also to make sure I can get back to work as quickly as possible.

In my opinion, next Tuesday, June 16th, I should be operational again. It's a bummer to pause development for a week, but it's a necessary evil if it means having my computers running 24/7 and not constantly feeling the silent threat and weight of a bottleneck.

This hiatus might also be a good thing, honestly, because this Halloween event really fried me. I'm going to use the time spent on ferries, planes, and any idle moments to write the remainder of this episode. I'm hoping to get it done quickly enough, as I only have one LEWD scene left and one cutscene, which are the two bigger missions. The rest of the scenes are more standard and shouldn't take too long.

Anyway, let's talk numbers:

Static renders: 3,797Animations: 157Story content: 49 scenes written (48,574 words)

That's another 110 renders and, most of all, 23 animations done in only six days of work. I saved today for packing, so I'm very happy with this last week. I pushed myself a little harder than usual and realized I still have room for more.

I was pretty burnt out toward the end of this event, and the housing situation had been weighing on me for months, causing me numerous illnesses and injuries. I think the promise of finally having my own place next week really lifted my spirits, and I'm genuinely excited to move.

I still haven't figured out the issue with the rendering rig that's been acting up lately, but hopefully the French air will work wonders for it too.

Anyway, that's it for this week's update. I'm going to... well, not really get back to work, actually. I'm going to get back to packing.

In the meantime, I wish you all a great week.
