I honestly hadn't noticed how long it's been since the last one of these. The last four months have flown by and I honestly haven't been satisfied with the progress.
First off, let's look back to January, where I started the year trying to do weekly videos.
I actually I enjoyed the hectic schedule of that month and I think the videos that came out weren't half bad either. The Gallerians video did surprisingly well and you'll probably see a video on the sequel before long.
However I had to put that weekly schedule to one side to make the Final Fantasy 7 retrospective video in time for the release of Rebirth. Ironically the month-long crunch I went through to make that video in Ferbuary was harder work than any weekly schedule.
After completing the FF7 video just in time, I will admit though I was pretty worn down, and I think it's had an effect on my output since.

I don't really use the term "burnout" for myself. A charitable on-looker may say this is overly self-critical but I just consider it laziness on my part if I power down for too long after finishing a video or something.
This time though, I think an intense January and non-stop February did combine to cripple my enthusiasm, and the slow drip of content since is the result.
I also spent a few weeks on a project I've put on the back burner due to my lack of confidence in it at the moment - a stumble that's also affected output.
I would like to return to a weekly schedule at some point, but before that I want my next big project out - one I started back in November.
This is an hour plus project on an RPG game and you'll be getting updates on its progress in the coming weeks, since it's finally taking shape. It's a bit of an ambitious video, so I'm expecting a few hiccups along the final stretch, but hopefully it will be the next major thing you see.
Once again, I'm haunted by the fact the Chain of Memories video still isn't done and that I haven't given you guys a video vote in a while, but there's not much I can do about it at the moment.
What I can do is maybe revamp again how we do Patreon rewards. Maybe we could do a backer vote on a game I could cover on here just for backers in a TGB Insider review style format.

I've also been gaming in my own time a bit, which I like to tell myself is productive on some level. After 5 years, my 70 hour playthrough of Sekiro finally concluded. I've spent the last half decade, installing it, playing around, getting lost, beating some bosses and then having to put it to one side while I do other things. Maybe for the best considering how addicting it is.
Now I'm up to date on my From-Fantasy, I can finally try Eldin Ring at some point. Though to be honest after how deliberate and intense the combat in Sekiro was I'm a little apprehensive about clattering on down back to souls-style dodge rolling.
I also beat the Expert Cup in Wave Race 64... not much to say about that.
I also played a bit of the weird N64 action-adventure hybrid, Hybrid Heaven, on Backlog with Brit the other day, if you want to take a look HERE. This in interesting specimen for the console, and hardware nerds will appreciate why.

There's not much point in bringing this up now but I'm also making a proper attempt at learning Japanese at the moment. Putting in an hour every day I can. This certainly won't pay off for many years, but one day it would cool to dive even deeper into obscure unlocalised/un-fan-patched games or even look back at some classics in their native language.
Anyway, in summary, they'll be a big video soon and a regroup after to pick our next direction, hopefully with Chains somewhere in the mix.
Let me know if you have any type of Patreon content you might like to see as well, they'll probably be a new Insider review out soon either way.
Catch you in a bit!
