They arrive in Mistress Alice’s office and Natalie sits down behind the desk.
Natalie: Right, Maid. Go and fetch me some champagne. And be very quick unless you want to be punished.
Laurence: Yes, Mistress.
20 minutes later, Laurence returns with the champagne.
He pours a glass and puts it and the bottle on the desk on some coasters that he has brought with him.
Natalie looks at him.
Natalie: There are 2 things wrong. What are they, Maid?
Laurence: Err, I don’t know, Mistress.
Natalie: Well, I’ll tell you.
Natalie: First, you took 20 minutes to get the champagne. That’s far too long. I said to be quick. And second, where’s the ice bucket? The champagne gets warm if it’s not in an ice bucket ………. and I don’t like drinking warm champagne.
Laurence: I’m sorry, Mistress. The Retreat is quite a big place, and I couldn’t find that bar, at first. And then there was nobody there to serve me and I had to go and find somebody.
Natalie: I’m not interested in your excuses. Your service was not up to the standard I expect from my Maid. So, you will be punished.
Laurence (thinking): Punished! That might, or might not, be fun.
