Hey everyone,
A lot has shipped over the last few weeks. New tools for managing your saves, a couple of bigger features for keeping your library clean and lean, behind-the-scenes work that quietly smooths the daily experience, and a fresh wave of community content on the Workshop. Here's the tour.
Right-Click Menu on Saves
Four quick actions, one right-click away on any save card.
Export packs the save into a portable .wlsave archive (JSON, thumbnail, every referenced CustomAssets folder).Favorite (or press F) pins the save to the top of Sandbox and to Wild Life's in-game save selector.Move to… shuffles saves across Collections subfolders or MySaves levels.Show on disk reveals the .json in your OS file manager.
Optimize your saves
Right-click any save → Optimize textures… and pick a max dimension (plus an optional ÷2 toggle). Studio re-encodes oversized PNGs to JPG when there's no alpha, resizes large JPGs in place when there is, and patches every internal reference for you. If several saves share the same asset folder, the changes cascade across all of them in one pass.
A central backup is kept for every run, so you can revert the whole operation with one click from the Inspector if a texture came out too aggressive. A 4-phase progress bar (Analyse → Save → Optimization → Update) keeps you informed while it works.
Result: lighter saves, faster Wild Life loads, no manual texture wrangling.
Maintenance feature
Re-scan walks every save on disk, refreshes the in-app records list, and hashes everything to surface broken records, missing assets, and duplicates. Find unused assets locates orphan files in CustomAssets that no save references anymore. A status strip narrates which of the 3 stages is currently running so the scan never looks hung. Subsequent runs use an mtime cache: a 245 MB / 233-record collection drops from 1.27 s cold to 21 ms hot (60× faster).
Both tools live as action cards inside the Maintenance drawer, opened from the Sandbox toolbar.
Other Things
Large .mod / .wlsave / .wlmm imports. Zip extraction moved off the main process, so multi-gigabyte archives no longer freeze the window and the old 2 GB ceiling is gone.
Image optimization on publish. Every cover image is re-encoded locally before upload (typical 70-85% reduction), so Workshop loads faster on everyone's machine.
Smarter asset reference scanner. The parser that flags unused CustomAssets now sees CustomMaterial slots, all MySaves levels, AutoSaves, and CharacterPresets, killing false positives.
Startup crash recovery. Structured diagnostics in logs/diag.log, auto-reload on renderer crashes, and an 8-character error code you can quote in bug reports.
Smart subfolder default on downloads. Shop and Workshop downloads pre-fill the target subfolder with the creator's name (e.g. Minervha_Studio/), so your library stays organized by author with no extra clicks.
Fresh from the Community
The Workshop has been busy lately. Minervha side,
The next outfit will be a Lingerie set for Maya, Shiva, Jenny and one last character that will be voted by Mythic members on Discord.
