Knotty Hellhound+Seth and new Models!

DESCRIPTION

Start of a new month so let's go over what's happened since the last one. First off there has been HUGE progress made towards the new Hellhound model with it almost being completely finished by now, just need to model the head, hair, and then properly paint it. Additionally in between modeling I've also made a few new renders with Seth getting dominated by a big knotty Hellhound! After all this I've also recently been posting to Blue as a smaller daily dairy to reminisce on my old work and how I got here today which motivated me to go back to my old works. I still have the old project files saved, so I spent some time updating them with the purpose of remaking them now to see how much I've changed over the years. For this purpose I wanted to do more than just re-use the old set and have found a brand new one to really push it farther. The problem with the new scene I wanted to use is that it was going for Photo Realism, and with that in mind I redid the shading and texturing on everything. The end result looks fantastic! Now lets take a closer look at the Behind the Scenes on everything-

First up would be the model. There isn't too much I want to go behind the scenes on with this just yet since the model isn't finalized. One of the biggest challenges was making the shoulders and collar bone look good, and even more than that, the breasts. The abs were pretty easily to do for the most part.

The back muscles especially was a big part of why I had such a difficult time with the shoulder since I did not fully understand the anatomy at the time. I needed some good advice from MofuMerchant to model it properly. Even after it has been properly modeled I didn't want to make it excessively pronounced, although I will paint some additional details into the texture once the time comes. Alternatively the privates were shockingly easy to do.

I already had experience modeling the anus as I had tried updating/replacing the one found on MofuMerchants model before, although with some heavy limitations. Now that I'm modeling these without any of those prior limitations there was only smooth sailing when working on it. I'm quite proud of how it all turned out.

Now the legs aren't a new addition to the model as they were the first thing I modeled from way back, but just to show off the whole model again I thought to share these again.

To finish everything off, there are short animations of me rigging and testing out the model's topology to see how good it would look when moving. The anims can be found in either the attachments of this post are on the D!sc0rd

After the model progress I had started work on Mofu's Hellhound again where I spent time updating/remixing shaders again. I do love experimenting with my art style cause every time I tend to learn something or make an improvement, and I do make that distinction for a reason. Not every change I've made has been an improvement, but I still value it regardless.

I've got a nice soft spot for the Classic Shader I used to use and after the updates I made towards it I'm actually wondering if I should go back to using it as my primary shader from now on. The newer shader I've been using is much closer in style to what you'd see from most other 3D models so it integrates a lot smoother when paired with characters like Mal0. Let me know which of the two art styles you'd prefer more in the future ^~^

Speaking of shading updates let me show off the map I had found on Open3D since I absolutely loved the set dressing, albeit the initial art style was a big turn off. It was just so at odds with how the Hellhound looked artistically that's jarring. With that in mind I overhauled the entire scene!

I can't wait to use this map in an upcoming animation ^~^As one final note I did mention some renders I had made with Seth and the Hound, so to end things off on a spicy note here they are!

That's all the updates for now, have a good one until next time <3
