Should I create the music myself, or use royalty-free / AI-generated music from sites like Pixabay?
I don’t mind learning music composition (I already have some basics), but going deeper into music theory would take time, around 1–2 months to learn properly and create the first track for Chapter 3 Part 1/3, this would impact production time.
Especially since Chapter 3 will be more focused on an electro-swing theme, and Chapter 4 will need something more powerful and imposing, considering what is going to happen in the story.
In the meantime, I’ll still move forward with the story and some animations for Beat Banger Chapter 3 – Part 1/3, and possibly work on the other two character designs as well.
I’ll mainly focus on advancing my visual novel and my Animated-Short while I’m learning.
Alternatively, I could go with AI / royalty-free music and keep pushing Beat Banger ENCORE and the Animated-Short as a priority.PS: Everyone says it’s a bad idea, but finding music that fits +18 content without permission is hard. So the options were either making my own music or using AI.
I suggested it to get your opinion. I’m not necessarily for AI, but the stress of creating content while learning music is overwhelming and could slow the project and affect Patreon.
I still plan to release lots of animations and drawings for my other projects and Beat Banger. My concern is making the music fit the scenes. I’d rather start with music and create scenes to match, but if I make music after animations, it might not fit perfectly. We’ll see.
