Jasmine travels alone through the busy halls of the ship, everyone gives her a wide berth. She doesn't really know where she is going, she's trusting her gut, leading her to the ‘coldest’ part of the ship.
Itsuki was the last human with a translator, he was working with some rangers going through clean up in ‘the hall of horrors’ monsters created from human folklore, currently disposing of their rotting corpses. Itsuki felt her presence immediately.
Itsuki had a troubled past and was still learning how not to get in his own way. Itsuki gives Jasmine his report, they've been slowly incinerating the rotting proteins. Nothing ‘useful’ so far, nothing on this level that would help them other then create more monsters. He shows her a terminal, the device changing language as she approached.
The machine builds monsters, but he can't get it to do anything else.
Jasmine says it's still good, wondering if Xant could isolate limbs for the fallen.
Jasmine asks how he's doing, itsuki shrugs, they've got a lot of work to do but theyve been keeping themselves, he's been teaching them work songs to pass the drudgery.
As Jasmine asks about where he got the idea, captain Reynard shows up and gives a boisterous welcome. Reynard says he asked itsuki about songs since he got the idea from Jasmine.
Jasmine says the ships on rest, Beau needs sleep and only a human can run the ship. Itsuki nods, it went without saying that Jasmine didn't want to lead the ship, she had already interfaced with it directly. Itsuki and Reynard come back with Jasmine to the infirmary to check on Beau. Xant is checking his vitals while he sleeps, they talk about what to do next.
