Episode 2 is completed. Hope you enjoy the upgrade and the extended scenes!
Some interesting bugs were found by the testing team last week, and I've been busy fixing them.
Merlin managed to provide me with a challenge very late in the week, and I do like a good challenge! The last time I looked at what he talked about, I feared it would take me about a month to code. He was talking about the moves in the combo app and how they just kept consuming points. Since the creation of the app, I couldnt think of an easy way to do it properly, and the easiest thing I could think of at the time was to just ignore it and let the player hit the reset button if they weren't happy. That's how it always worked, but I was never satisfied with this utter lazy way of doing it.
So, I had a good think about it, and eventually after a day or so, managed to do it properly. This is a very long way of saying that I was succesfull in implementing a stupid feature that took a while to figure out, and that no one will give a shit about. Anyway, enjoy the moves now adding and subtracting your combo points properly, so it doesn't matter if you make a mistake or select the wrong move. And thank you Merlin, for the challenge.😂
Now this next stretch is the final bit, and I have to make sure everything is ready for the Steam launch. One more episode to go (EP3) and a final layer of polish. As mentioned before, I'm not going to be able to unlock the "Fight now" feature with the current EP2 release, as it relies on having Diana's sparring match ready, which doesn't happen until EP3. This'll be the first thing I'll start working on, along with some small UI and functionality improvements .
But first, I'm taking a little break... playing some games, clear my head, and visit my sister abroad. This rework stage almost killed me and I can't wait for it to be done and dusted so I can get on with episode 5. I absolutely loathe redoing this old shit. When I couldn't face working on episode 2 scenes, I started writing scenes for episode 5 just to keep my already low levels of sanity. EP5 is going to be a good one... heavy, but interesting.
