The sound of sirens, screams, and car alarms drifted up to the rooftops. Charlie could see her now, trying to navigate the city streets, tottering and lurching as she knocked into knee high buildings, sending concrete and glass tumbling down onto the streets below. Clara looked stunning, even as she towered over the skyline. A helicopter hovered in from of her, and she repeatedly reached for it.
“Where are you going?” She asked, playfully. “I thought we were going to hang out?”

“Scott, she thinks you’re in the chopper.” Charlie called back over his shoulder.
“Shit, I know, I’m trying to get hold of her cell.” Scott stood, looking down at his phone. “Keeps going through to voicemail.”
“Where did you say to meet?”
“Well it wasn’t on this rooftop was it numb nuts.”
“She’s giving you a lot of credit thinking you’d be able to commandeer a news chopper.”
“Dammnit, what are we going to do?”
“I don’t know but its a good view.”
“Yeah, until she actually comes this way. Do you think there’s any chance of actually getting her attention anyway?”
Charlie had an idea.
“Scott, call the newsroom. Get them to give the chopper a message, lead her this way. Say you’re dating.”
“What? I don’t think I want to get mixed up…”
“It’s way too late for that, someone’s going to get stepped on!”
Clara’s knee went straight through another building as she extended her hand to grasp the helicopter. The roads kept cracking when she put her foot down, high heeled boots puncturing the road surface like it was a wafer, and she was tottering dangerously with each step.
“When I get hold of you Scott, I’m going to give you the night of your life.” She cooed.
Charlie looked at Scott, who was white as a sheet and holding his phone to his ear.
“Yes can I speak to the newsroom? I… I have inside info on the big story crashing through town right now.”
