Hello, dear readers!
I am here again for a monthly update, and this time, I’ll reveal a little bit about my new GL Project!
Its acronym is DRM! It’s a GL story with supernatural/mystery themes! It will be published in the traditional print manga format, with the intention of being translated into Japanese. When M&DQ was ongoing, it caught the eye of a few Japanese readers, but the format and the lack of a translation were barriers to entry so I’d like to try making my new series more accessible to them.
DRM is mainly a gift to my younger self. It’s the kind of story I was looking for back when I was a kid, though the series definitely isn’t for kids with some of the subject matter it’ll tackle.
A SNEAK PEEK ON THE CHARACTER DESIGNS!
The Main Character and her Sidekick/ Love Interest:
Do you have a hunch on what the story will be? I’ll reveal it next time ^_^
How’s the Project Going?
I just finished writing Chapter 1 this month; I wanted it to be impactful so it took quite a while. Each chapter is estimated to be 60-100 pages. November will be dedicated to storyboards + edits + pitching the story to my agent for more edits and improvements in the overall story outline. Patreon supporters should be able to read the comic firsthand next year, either in February or March! I’ll be sure to post more sneak peeks and illustrations in the meantime until the private release here on Patreon.
Why the switch from WEBTOON to Manga?
I believe going for a manga format will allow me to focus more on the story, without the pressure to release it weekly. Besides, I’ve always wanted to produce manga! I imagine the scenes in this story will look good in black and white.
I hope you’re hyped because I am! The planning part is frustrating, but I’m in love with this project.
That’s all from me for now! Thanks for your support as always, and see ya!
