May 2026 Update- M&DQ, DRM, WAIFU
Hi, everyone! I’m here to share an update on my ongoing projects. I’ve been quiet on social media because I’ve been focusing on them, and since the release dates are still far off, it feels too early to post illustrations or promote them publicly.
Detective Reaper Morrigan (GL, Mystery)- Physical & Digital Manga
The entire volume 1 script is done—a whopping 240 pages! (It’s way over the publisher’s limit, but I’m hoping it still gets greenlit.) The story tackles a new case focused on Aisha, so readers will learn more about her as a character. I’m currently awaiting feedback from my editor and working on some cover concepts to present to them next.
Some cover concepts to be provided to the publisherRelease Date: The contract is moving slowly, but I’m doing everything I can to keep it on track for a 2027 release.
WAIFU (Poly GL, Sci-fi) - One-shot Light Novel for Print Publication
A project in collaboration with Galatea* ( my personal editor in Mage & Demon Queen) as the writer, and Cinnamyon as the character designer. The novel and character designs are all done. I just need to do my part and draw a couple of inside illustrations and the cover, then I’ll present it to my agent so we could find a publisher.
Character designs by CinnamyonRelease Date: TBA, but most likely 2028 with how slow the physical pub world is.
Mage & Demon Queen (GL, Fantasy)- Print Publication
The publisher’s internal team tried converting the webtoon to book format, but it didn’t work out. They’ll hire a comic artist to handle the conversion instead. In the meantime, I’ll keep working on more epilogue comics until I’ve introduced all of Mal and Vel’s kids. Please stay tuned for more~
Some notes I made on the sample layout givenRelease Date: Late 2027 or 2028
FAQ: Will the print version be uncensored?
There’s nothing to censor in Volume 1! Please remember the series started off tame before Mal and Vel became bolder with each other. I’ll ask about including the uncensored panels when we get to those later volumes.
Personal Thoughts
I didn’t expect Western traditional publishing to be this slow. It’s honestly a bit frustrating because I’m excited to work on my new series and share it with the public. Still, I suppose it’s better that I have more time to think through my work and finally have some time for leisure, instead of quickly churning out weekly comics like I did on Webtoon. I appreciate y'all's patience with me too, despite the pace we're in.
As always, thanks for your support and for accompanying me as I make more Yuri!
Take care~
