That was one SWEATY workout!
Since May I have been embarking on a new lifestyle as I found out at the start of the year I am what the NHS 'technically' calls 'overweight'.
As you probably guessed, this was a shock for me. I've never felt 'overweight' and have always been pretty fit and eat very mindfully, but this make me asses everything I 'thought' I was doing 'right'.
Turns out, that glass of red wine a night was making me feel sluggish and bloated (but red wine is medicinal!). That portion was waaaaaay too big (I had a tough day). My 30min workouts weren't really doing much for me (I dont have anymore time)....etc etc, all common sense stuff but stuff I turned a blind eye too because YOLO...!
So I switched up my diet and have been on a small calorie deficit for about 2 months whilst increasing the intensity of my workouts with the aim of losing 30lbs (eventually).
Not going to lie, its HARD and I've not been perfect at all. The thing I struggle with the most is the new mindset and impulse control....which is probably why in those 2 months I have lost a grand total off........2lbs!
Hahaha which isn't alot at all.
I was SO discouraged and wanted to stop entirely, as you hear of people losing 4lbs or more a month without even trying....
....but slow and steady wins the race right?
What I've learnt is that I need to completely change everything I thought I knew about myself and about my relationship with food before even worrying about reaching targets. I'd rather create sustainable habits first rather than going balls deep to get to a particular 'weight'. Cuz I'll get there one day right?
I'd be interested to know your stories on switching to a more healthy lifestyle and what you did to reach your goals and change your mindset!
