The epithet that Coryanne has tried to push to the population has changed slightly in these two chapters. I try not to hide any more than minor changes to prior chapters without warning you(so you don't miss something).Originally, I decided upon using the Horned Prince because it was fun and interesting and it didn't have the real world connotation of it. I also know its use is likely linked with a lot of it being anti-pagan propaganda by the church and I didn't expect that to be within Westeros, so that wouldn't be a thing really. I also am not aware of anything mentioning "horning" someone in Skyrim, and so wanted to keep my real world bias of the words' potentially meanings out out of the internal universes. At the same time, I couldn't recall it being used in ASOIAF in that particular way, but it has been forever for me. TLDR, I went down a rabbit hole trying to find any actual source for if it had been referenced in that particular way after they mentioned it, because it was nagging at me that I had felt like I'd heard it but I couldn't recall where. It took me too long to find it, but I eventually proved myself wrong.
There is at least one instance of it being used in this particular way but the most important one I think:"The Lannister woman gave him horns and made a motley fool of him. She may have murdered him as well, as she murdered Jon Arryn and Ned Stark." - Stannis Baratheon.So yep.In character, it is unlikely that Coryanne would risk pushing an epithet that may be so difficult to discuss, and unhelpful for Ysmir, since she was the driving force of its spread. More reasonably, she'll ride upon something that's more neutral and mysterious, if that (risk) is the case regarding the horned thing.So I encourage you all to reread chapter 21/22 (or simply ctrl+f and search "Nowhere Prince") and read the relevant changes.Much love, resuming writing Chapter 23 now.
