A marine research doctor is attempting to engineer a drug that can help make the strained wild populations of orca whales more fertile. An accident infects him with the experiment and he transforms first into a woman and then into a very pregnant orca whale soon after. His co-researcher finds the former male in a salt-water breeding tank with a new calf.
