Ignore the odd looking cursor. Seems to be an issue with the screen recorder, as it looks fine otherwise.
Recently I sat down and put a lot of work into OpenTS2. The main menu is finally in, alongside the splash music, neighborhood chooser, etc.
All of these assets you see, minus the font as it's currently a placeholder until we figure out the font format, are loaded directly from your TS2 files. This means no copyrighted files are distributed, keeping OpenTS2 on legal ground and easily moddable, just like the original game.
Saving is also implemented. A lot of work has gone into low level stuff such as resource and memory management. This means the edits I made to the neighborhood names and descriptions in the video not only stick, but also show up in regular TS2:
Obviously there is still a TON of work to be done, but IMO this is a pretty great milestone :)
