“How was your day, love?” Scarlett asked as soon as I got home.
I kissed her before bending down to kiss the heads of my two sons, Ace and Ian. I was so used to calling them by their nicknames that I had stopped using Atlas or Damian. The two were in the middle of a play session, but as soon as they saw me, their faces lit up with big grins, and their babbling increased.
“It was okay-ish, I guess,” I answered Scarlett’s question after a beat, hoisting both my sons against my chest.
