Al Pacino just shrugged, for he had no answer to that question. “This is the toughest scene for his character, so it’ll take time before he fully gets there. We just need some patience, and I’m sure he’ll nail it in a few more takes.”
Robert Zemeckis nodded in agreement and walked back behind the camera.
As much as Al preferred working with a director like Bob, who was open-minded enough to accept suggestions, it was sometimes tiring to oversee everything. While Bob was competent enough as a director, he lacked the confidence to take a stance, especially when it came to knowing whether a scene was good or needed another take.
