Animation #81
[Worklog]
Migration went smoothly over to the new Studio install (we upgraded). Had a few odd (different?) behaviours though, like on Timeline: pasting keyframes (Ctrl+V) moves the selected character. Also the copy (Ctrl+C) don't copy over across different selected characters which I am assuming is done for performance(?) and at least that one is fixable by just toggling view of all interpolables.
Selecting off the current character to another one while the KKPE has a bone selected(?) seems to trigger this massive lag spike which gets fixed by selecting another bone the current selected character has - like going from a character with 'kokan' bone to one without seems to trigger this lag.
Still, on top of these weird things, the fact that there is a significant performance boost is already a massive advantage over the previous version.
There are a lot of things we still haven't tried with the updated plugins and the introduction of Shallty's, so we'll be continuing to experiment and hopefully make improvements to how we're currently controlling the upper and lower halves of their bodies.
Hehe, we might have tried to do a little too much on top of everything else (non-Sugardust related stuff) that we got a little overworked and burned. We'll be taking an extra day off and buying a case of cold ones to cool off the burn out 'cause the last thing we want to do is turn our enthusiasm for it all into mundane work.
I'm glad we're still receiving everyone's support as we approach our 2 years. Less than two years ago we were still fighting final examinations, classes, reading study papers and preparing for graduation, while working on our first few animation releases.
We've noticed a few new things to play with that we didn't for this release on our new studio upgrade so we'll attempt to use them for the next one. Keyword 'attempt' though we're still getting used to it.
Anyway, see ya next release o/
