The Signal fades, leaving confusion in its wake. Marvel Girl snaps out of her trance and tries to puzzle it out, finally realizing what's been happening this whole time. Charles Xavier attempts to explain, but sometimes words fall short. Tony, who just happened by, inadvertently stress tests his codpiece.
There are always two camps when it comes to superheroine ENFs: the "Keep the Mask" crowd and the "Lose the Mask" Legion. I think both have their merits, frankly. Losing the mask also exposes the secret identity (although I don't think the X-Men maintain them, for whatever reason) which can add to the story. Keeping the mask, meanwhile, is a funnier visual, especially when it's a particularly elaborate headpiece like Ms. Grey is wearing here. I went with keeping it, probably for that reason, although I did this a ways back so I don't remember exactly what my logic was. My sincere apologies to all those "Lose the Mask" people out there who are disappointed. Next superheroine will lose her mask.
