A few of you pointed out that a recent Blood on the Clocktower thumbnail of ours looked AI-generated. Our stance has been to not use stuff like that. We’re old fashioned and like humans.
Over the last several months, we’ve been using an agency to help make YouTube thumbnails. From the very start, we made it clear not to use AI-generated assets. We even paid extra for real life designers to make them.
After the comments on the BOTC video, we quadruple-checked. Previously, we’d been told “our designers are just very good.” This time, they admitted to using AI-generated elements in some thumbnails.
We’ve now asked for every affected thumbnail to be remade, and once that’s done, we’ll be ending our relationship with the agency.
Which means — we need new YouTube thumbnail designers!

Finally, we just wanted to say sorry it has taken a while to come back to you on this, we had some fact finding to do before we could say anything definitively, so thank you for your patience while we do things properly.
