I finally had some time recently to watch videos of Pantalone and Dottore, and I really feel like they are 'awful people but with sincere hearts.' Pantalone has probably met all the versions of Zandik, right? Though he probably never met the 25-year-old Zandik in Sumeru, so let’s just count that as his dream (?)
