hey peeps! since we want to finish the demo asap so we can have time to fix it before steam next fest starts, i decided i'd move the days i work on z&a earlier in the week, so today is an unexpected z&a update, and saturday it'll be an androcosm/fenris high update.
so let me show you what i worked on this week:
i finished the last card for the collectible sports card that you'll be able to find in the first two levels in the demo -
also made a binder background to show how many you collected:
after that i started to work on the end of demo screen, a spoof of the old doom 1 and 2 shareware screen that would pop up after closing the games:
so the resolution is miniscule but let me tell you, i had a ton of fun making those fake screenshots
(this one was made by a friend of rick tho)
the hellnaut one was surprisingly fun, and is supposed to mock early tomb raiders-
we wanted to make a ff7 battle screen mockup for the third screen but it would've taken ages to model everything so we opted for an easier to do boomer shooter spoof-
also wanted to share the background for the shareware screen; you really can't see it in the finalized screen ,but it turned out too nice not to show:
after that i worked on the title cards for the first two levels- initially i wanted to do something similar to curse of monkey island, but rick suggested i go for a rocko's modern life title card look , and i think that was a much better idea! these were so fun to make!
they tend to show things that don't exactly happen in the game proper, but that's exactly what happened with 90s cartoons title cards so it's fine i think!
anyways, with this all the assets for the demo are finished, so expect to see it pop up soon enough on the steam page for the game !
